range approximately 20
metres west of Moor Park
Barn, byre and pigeoncote range. c1859. For James Bray, probably by
Andrews and Delauney. Coursed squared gritstone, graduated grey slate
roofs. Barn of approximately 11 bays, with a low 2-storey, 2-bay range with
attached square 2-storey pigeoncote projecting at right angles, right.
Barn: central segmental-arched cart entrance with keystone in a slightly
projecting pedimented bay; flanking triangular-headed byre doorways and
windows, most openings blocked. 2 pitching doors to left, the remainder of
upper walling pierced by narrow slit vents. Eaves band; moulded kneeler and
gable coping to left. Left return: central window as front, flanked by slit
vents to upper floor; single slit vent in gable. Projecting range: the
lower 2-bay range is open to ground floor left; 2 small paired windows in
plain surrounds below eaves. The pigeoncote has 3 round-arched openings
with moulded impost band and keystones; 4 tiers of 8 pigeon holes with stone
perches set in a shallow arched recess to upper floor. Moulded and
modillioned eaves cornice; pyramidal roof. Included for group value.
