Ha-ha wall. Probably late C18 for Sir John Ingilby. Coursed grey
gritstone. Approximately 6 to 8 courses high with projecting flat coping
stones. Overall length approximately 600 metres, the south end terminates
at the boat house (qv) and the north end terminates at a gateway
approximately 100 metres south-east of Scarah Farm. The wall divides the
deer park from the gardens and arboretum redesigned in the early C19 but is
on the line of an earlier boundary shown on an 1807 estate map. See North
