pipe and pedestal
approximately 20 metres
south-west of The Priory

GV II*

Statue of shepherd with pedestal. Early C18, restored c1985. Sculptor
unknown. Restoration by Andrew Naylor. Lead statue, ashlar pedestal.
Overall height approximately 2.70 metres, with lifesize statue. Rectangular
pedestal with moulded base and cornice carries figure of shepherd boy in C18
dress, legs crossed, holding a pipe. Not in original position. One of a
group of early C18 lead statues.
