east of The Priory

GV II*

Statue of Girl with Bird's Nest and pedestal. Early C18, restored c1985.
Sculptor unknown. Restoration by Andrew Naylor. Lead statue, ashlar
pedestal. Overall height approximately 2.70 metres, with lifesize statue.
Rectangular pedestal with moulded base and cornice carries figure of girl in
bodiced dress holding a bird's nest. Not in original position. One of a
group of early C18 lead statues.
