approximately 10 metres
south of chancel of
Church of St Oswald

GV II


Pair of tombs. Late C18 - early C19. Limestone and gritstone. The
southern tomb has end panels carved with a circular flower motif; the
corners have stylised Corinthian pilasters. Sides have recessed central
panel. No inscription legible on roll moulded slab. The northern tomb has
end panels with oval fan motifs in recessed panels. The top slab is cyma
moulded, the inscription not decipherable. Both tombs considerably wind-
scoured at time of resurvey.
