LITTLE OUSEBURN MAIN STREET
10/52 Beech House and
House and outbuildings. Mid C18 with C19 alteration. House mottled pink
brick in English bond, on sandstone plinth. Outbuildings coursed cobbles
with orange-red brick lacing bands. Pantile roofs. 2-storey, 3-window
house front, with lower 2-storey, 3-bay outbuilding to right; further
1 1/2-storey outbuilding at right end. House: entrance in left return.
Ground floor centre window is 12-pane sash; first floor centre window
blocked. Remaining windows 16-pane sashes; all openings segment-arched.
3-course first floor band and raised eaves band. End stacks. Left
return: 4-panel door with overlight. 2-storey Outbuilding: blocked right
end loft opening, two others with 3-light windows. Brick band at loft
level interrupted by vented openwork sections., Right return: open brick-
work pigeon loft openings between tie rod ends forming the letters E and
R. 1 1/2-storey Outbuilding: no openings on street side. Shuttered pitching
door in right gable end.
