5.5.52 Worsall Hall


Early C18 with additions. Three builds. Local pinkish red brick, pantiled roof,
stone ridges and one gable coping with kneeler. Ridge end chimneys.
Main block three storeys, two windows, with right wing of two taller storeys, one
window, and earlier lower two-storey left wing with modern returned gabled
projection. Gauged flat brick arches to windows mainly sashes with glazing bars in
wood architraves. Two modern casements ground floor. Early C19 two-storey canted bay
in right part, but on return are original thick glazing-bar sashes. Interior shows a
fine staircase with 3 turned balusters to a tread, deeply-gadrooned knops; seven
panelled rooms and a wall painting of Worsall Quay, which was built by the owner of
this house. Sum Insurance plaque. Company's records refer to "Mr Pearse's New
