No 53


C18, top floor probably added in early C19. Painted brick in Flemish bond. Welsh
slate roof with off-centre chimney. Three storeys, three windows, narrow
proportions. Gauged brick flat arches, those on first floor with keystones, to C19
windows on first floor, modern above in original openings. At left a six-panel door
with oblong fanlight and reeded head in delicate surround of reeded pilasters with
paterae, frieze and modillion cornice. Similar treatment to segmental bowed shop
front with stone stallriser, but modern central door.
