5/4 Danby Hill (previously
listed as "Danby Hall")

House. Dated 1767 with early C19 alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond,
graduated slate roof. Three storeys, 2:3:2 bays, the outer bays bowed, that
to right only 2-storeys. Central ½-glazed door in Doric porch with frieze,
cornice and blocking course. Windows have flat brick arches with keystones
and stone cills. All are sashes with glazing bars, those to right bow
larger, except window to right of door, a 16-pane sash, and those on second
floor which are 6-pane sashes to left bow and to central portion a 12-pane
and 2 9-pane unequally-hung sashes. Drainpipes flanking central portion
have rainwater heads, dated on left 1805 and on right 1819. Pediment over
central bay with recessed elliptical datestone of 1767, flipped roof with 3
ridge stacks.
