5/32 Topcliffe Mill House

GV II

House. Mid C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick, pantile
roof. Main block of 3 storeys, 3 bays with scattered fenestration. To
right a lower l-bay, 2-storey wing breaks forward. Main block: half-glazed
door in slim surround of reeded pilasters, frieze, dentilled cornice and
pediment to far right. Windows are 4-pane sashes, apart from those to each
end on second floor which are 2-light casements. Ground floor has 3 sashes
to left of door, first floor has 3 more widely spaced windows and second
floor has casements to either side of left of centre sash. Windows mostly
below segmental brick arches. Shaped kneelers, stone coping, end stack to
left and one to ridge. Right wing, C20 ground-floor window breaks forward
with C20 4-light casement. First floor: 2-light C20 casement. Stone
copings, tall end stacks to right.
