GV II

House. Late C18. Red brick and stone, rendered, graduated stone slate
roof. 2 storeys, 9 bays. Symmetrical facade. Stone plinth. To each side
of central 3 bays half-glazed doors with overlights, that to left has
Chinese Chippendale type glazing bars to overlight. Moulded stone surrounds
with consoles and cornices. Door to left has C19 latticed wood porch to
front. Otherwise all bays have sashes with glazing bars. Central 3 bays
form a canted bay which rises approximately half metre above cornice level.
First floor: outer 3 bays each side have unequally-hung 9-pane sashes.
Central 3 bays have round-arched sashes with glazing bars. All windows with
stone sills. Stepped eaves. Roof hipped and hipped to central 3 bays. 3
ridge stacks.
