Farmhouse. C.17 and later. Painted rubble, thatch, brick stacks. Cross
passage with stair turret. 2 storeys, four bays. Ground floor has a 2-light
a 3 light and a 5 light casement all with ovolo moulded timber frames. Central
door of six tall panels with thin stiles and central rail. Gabled porch with
pantiles, ornamental bargeboard, is carried on a pair of fluted square columns
and rudimentary cornice; returns are filled with high back benches. First floor
has one 5 and two 3 light casements on ground floor. One larger C.19 casement
in later west bay. Thatch renewed 1981. At rear cross passage obscured by C.19
single storey pantiled offshot. Casement lacking mullion above. Middle bay, over
which eaves rise, has 3 light moulded casement below, C.19 replacement above in
circular stair turret under low eaves has small 2 light casement and small fixed
glazed moulded stone light with tracery (possibly reset). Internally deep
chamfered beams.
