7/32 No 144 (The Nags Head)
Inn. Probably early C18 with later alterations. Rendered, pantile roof. 2 storeys,
3 first-floor windows. The ground plan has been destroyed but may have had a hearth-
passage plan; there is a rear wing to the left. Door to right, and between 1st
and 2nd first-floor windows, 6-panel door in C19 stone doorcase with pilasters,
frieze, cornice and blocking course, the cornice part of string course; to its left
and right, early C20 tripartite windows. First floor: small sash windows. The
eaves may be corniced. Brick stacks to left end and to ridge to left of centre.
