House. Probably first half C16, encased C19, altered C20. Timber-frame clad in
mottled pink brick in english garden wall bond; interlocking tile roof. Single
storey with attic; 4 internal bays with rear aisle; wing added to rear right not
of special interest. Off-centre part-glazed door with two 2-light casements to
left and to right a 3-light side-sliding sash and a 2-light casement, all C20 with
cambered header-brick arches and brick sills to the windows. Dentilled eaves.
Three roof dormers on right. Roof hipped on left, with brick ridge stack to left
and truncated, offset, external stick at right end. Interior: parts of timber
frame visible include aisle posts (1 replaced) braced to arcade plate, close-
studded end walls (some studs removed); cambered tie-beam between right hand bays
with braces to wall posts, arched braces to purlins and close-studding above;
wattle-and-daub partition walls. In house body (bay 3) inglenook with bressumer,
which has doorhead cut out of it on left, and large scantling pyramidal-stopped
spine beam.
