Friends' School West Central Building

GV II

School building, dated 1842 on east front. Rendered, with stone plinth and
floor bands. Tooled, dressed stone with cill bands on east. Lakeland slate
roof, stone stacks. 3 storeys, 6 windows. At left 4 steps to 6-panel double
door with plain overlight. 12-pane sash windows in deep reveals with projecting
cills. Bracketed eaves gutter. 2 corniced ridge stacks. 3-storey, 6-bay east
front has 16-pane sashes with segmental heads. Central shaped raised parapet
with clockface and date panel. Square bellcote with ball finial above.
