House, mid C18 with alterations. Finely-coursed herringbone-tooled
and margined sandstone. Graduated greenslate roof with stone ridge,
copings, kneelers and stacks. Moulded and dentilled wood eaves
cornice. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Second bay has half-glazed door, with
patterned overlight,under later cornice hood on freestanding columns.
16-pane sashes, those on ground floor flat-headed; on first floor
alternating round-arched windows with radial heads; all have keyed,
pecked lintels carved to resemble voussoirs. End and off-centre
chimneys. Rear elevation 4 bays with a lower 2-storey projecting
east wing. Half-glazed door below round-arched stair window, with
voussoirs and keystone. Other windows 16-pane sashes under extended,
keyed lintels. Wing has 3-light casements under keyed lintels,
except for first floor left round-headed window similar to the
stair window. Main house has subsidiary door and 3 small inserted
windows at left. Bell on bracket under eaves at left.

Interior shows wide 6-paneldoors; and dado rail in hall with plaster
panelling. Cut-string staircase of 3 slender turned balusters to a
tread, with shaped tread ends, wreathed handrail and curtail step.

Added sunroom at east is not of special interest.
