Farmhouse. Late C18. Ashlar with pantile and graduated stone slate roof.
2 storeys, 3 bays with lower 2-storey, 2-bay wing set back to right. Main
house: central C20 door with stone surround of Doric pilasters on plinths
supporting a frieze, reeded in the top half, cornice and blocking course.
To either side sashes with glazing bars in top half. First floor has
sashes. All windows have stone cills and stone cill-like lintels. Shaped
kneelers. Stone coping, end stacks and graduated stone slate roof. Wing
to right: C20 casement to left on ground floor; side-sliding sash to right
on both floors; all windows with stone cills and flat stone arches. First-
floor band. Pantile roof with end stack to right. Pieces of medieval
window tracery, probably from Jervaulx abbey, can be seen in the gable end.
Interior: good neo-classical cornices and fireplace in main bedroom. Dog-
leg staircase with round-arched stair window.
