6/3 Beech House


House. Early to mid C19. Rough-ashlar sandstone facade, coursed
and squared sandstone elsewhere. Stone slate roof, renewed brick
stacks. Double-pile plan. 3 storeys, 3 windows to 1st floor.
Plinth. Central panelled door and overlight with decorative glazing
bars in projecting ashlar surround with pulvinated sunken panels to
jambs and lintel, cyma-moulded cornice. Plain ashlar panel above
doorway. Flanking windows (boarded-up) have projecting sills and
rusticated lintels. 3 similar 1st-floor windows have 16-pane sashes.
Shorter matching 2nd-floor window surrounds with casements to outer
windows, central window blind. Paired gutter brackets. Two C20
stacks to eaves of each return. Hipped roof. Right return: 3 low
buttresses. The whole building affected by subsidence.
