ST 36 SE BANWELL ST. GEORGE'S

2/29 Brimbleworth Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C16 and later. Rubble, double roman tile roof, brick stacks.
2 storeys, 4 windows; gabled porch off centre right, ground floor windows are
16 light glazing bar sashes (that to right has lost bars), C20 casements above;
gable and centre stacks, that to left reads John Hayne/17--; lean-to extension
at rear. Interior; rear cross passage doorway has semi-circular headed timber
frame as has door from passage to former hall; now floored, former hall shows
large fireplace on chamfered stone jambs with pyramid stops, chamfered timber
bressummer with moulded shelf returns as jamb; inserted framed ceiling in
2 sections, one C17, one later; set back partition between this and next room
shows site of jettied solar; that inner room has a C17 ovolo moulded single
light casement and stopped, chamfered beam; room to right of passage has
fireplace with chamfered bressummer and shelf and stopped, chamfered beams and
gable stairs; in room above a small single light metal casement; in solar is a
