4/85 Freestanding Chimney at
Bleachcroft Farm
Works chimney. Dated 1854. For the Midland Bleach Works. Dressed and ashlar
sandstone. Square pedestal with moulded plinth and cornice surmounted by tall
octagonal chimney with datestone on west side and entablature. Most impressive
remnant of the bleach works built here by Barnsley Manufacturer Henry Jackson.
