ST 35 NE BANWELL YARBERRY

4/45 Yarberry Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C17, refaced and extended early C19. Rendered and painted
rubble, pantile roofs, raised coped verges, brick stacks, stone ridge tiles.
2 storeys and attic, 4 windows; central 6 panel door under flat porch on plain
columns; 4 light transmullioned windows with casements; 2 hipped dormers with
6 light glazing bar sashes and weatherboarded cheeks; 2 windows to right first
in 2 storey then single storey extensions; left gable has 6 light casements;
single storey extension under catslide; central lower 2 storey gabled rear wing
has irregular windows with casements. Interior; rear wing has chamfered beams,
inglenook with chamfered bressummer and bread oven, spice cupboard and display
cupboard; left rooms of front block have very deep chamfered beams, centre
ceiling is framed; ground level at rear is above that at front; at junction of
the 2 blocks a 2 storey dog leg staircase with heavily moulded handrail and square
newels, balusters missing.
