left and rear of
- Ouslethwaite Hall
GV II
Garden wall. Late C18-early C19. Red brick in English Garden Wall bond, external
face partly-dressed sandstone, ashlar copings. Encloses 2 gardens to left and rear
of Ouslethwaite Hall (q.v.) with wall rising with ground from rear-left corner of
house forming division between the two and incorporating lean-to garden shed. Front
wall to left of house has piers and throughstones, corners at left end of garden are
curved, copings curve up to rear wall which is 3-4 metres in height and has original
6-panel door near junction with dividing wall. Similar doorways with dressed
surrounds lead into stone-roofed garden shed and to garden at rear of house where
wall continues to same style to link with rear-right corner of wing of the house.
