Boundary wall with tower. c1640-44 for Richard Elmhirst. Rubble sandstone.
Wall surmounting roadside bank with circular stone tower at north end. Wall
has triangular copings which rise over a blocked quoined doorway. Tower has
doorway facing Houndhill farmhouse (q.v.) with chamfered quoins and curved lintel.
4 small openings beneath coped parapet.

Interior of tower: narrow stone steps to raised platform behind parapet. Civil
war fortification to protect Royalist garrison at Houndhill.
