Range, formerly houses, now storage. Probably 1760s for John Spencer
Stanhope of Cannon Hall. Possibly by John Carr (architect of hall q.v.).
Red brick with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. Forms south range of a
courtyard. Two storeys. An ordered arrangement of 6 bays with a further 2
bays to right. Three doorways with moulded jambs, that to centre with raised
keystone and cornice, all with panelled doors and overlights. Three 12-pane
ground-floor sashes. Shallow-arched carriageway to right. Six 20-pane
sashes to lst floor and a further 2 later or altered lights to right. Three
altered ridge stacks and 2 ashlar end stacks.
