Folly approx 450 metres west-north-west of Tower Cottage at junction of paths in Deffer Woods just within the parish boundary

Folly. Early to mid C19. Coursed squared rubble outer wall, dressed stone
inner wall in reducing courses. Tiled conical roof with stone slate lower
courses. A circular building, the front being open and the roof here
supported by 4 yew trunks on simple stone footings. Remains of the
herringbone brickwork floor survive in part with a stone verge. The front
ends of the semi-circular back wall were formerly finished in rounded
brickwork, the left side now rendered, the right side gone. The folly
appears on the 1854 Ordnance Survey map.
