metres west of Haigh
Hall

GV II

Summer house. Probably 1770s by Richard Woods, landscape gardener. Later
addition to right. Red brick with stone slate roof. Tall central round-
arched doorway with narrow flanking lights, all set in a round-arched recess.
Both arches are archivolted with a 3-course brick band. Open gable pediment
treated with similar brick banding. Stone gable coping. The interior is
domed and semi-circular on plan, with a plain storage room at the rear.
