10/9 Oval-sectioned headstone
to Martha Brewerton
situated approximately
12 metres to north of
Church of St. Nicholas
GV II
Headstone. Dated 1818. Ashlar magnesian limestone. Monolithic oval-section
column with moulded base and plain shaft bearing weathered inscription which
reads:
'MARTHA the wife/of/Le Gay Brewerton/died May 1818/
Aged 27 years
Gadrooned cap with stump of spike finial or of a fixing dowel. Very unusual
design.
