10/22 The Granby
Public house. Late C18, altered. Painted brick in Flemish bond, pantile
roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays (facing High Street) x 1 bay (facing Wharf Street).
C20 pedimented doorcase flanked by C20 bowed casement windows, similar window
on far right. 1st floor: 16-pane sash to centre has projecting stone sill
and flat brick arch; sashes with glazing bars to outer bays have similar
sills and arches. 2nd floor: central 10-pane sash and outer 8-pane sashes
with sills and arches as before. Dentilled eaves. Roof is hipped on right
with large rebuilt brick stack between bays 2 and 3; brick end stack to left
end gable. Right return: C20 ground-floor window beneath windows as front
bay 3. C20 additions to front left not of special interest.
