9/60 Hall Farmhouse


Farmhouse. Late C17. Rubble magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roof. 2
storeys, L-shaped plan with 4-bay front and 2-bay left return; rear angle
infilled by wing which projects beyond right return. Rusticated ashiar
quoins. Bay-2 doorway has 6-panel door in stone architrave with plain frieze
and cornice; cross windows in raised ashiar surrounds with cavetto-moulded
inner arrises. 1st floor: band beneath windows as ground floor; later stone
plaque forming apron to bay-2 window bears words 'HALL FARM. Shaped
kneelers to coped gable on right; hipped end to roof on left; rebuilt brick
ridge stacks to right of door and to rear-left wing. Rear: tall stair window
originally with 2 transoms (one removed); straight joint with infilling wing.
Left return: windowed as front, 1st-floor window on right infilled.
