Barn with attached cowhouses, stables and pigsties. Mid C18 and C19.
Magnesian limestone rubble, stone slate eaves courses to pantile roof. 2-
storey barn with cowhouses and stables in partial aisles flanking twin waggon
entrances on north side; 1-storey C19 pigsties attached at east end. Barn:
3:2:3-bay exterior. Large quoins. Central recess has later doorways in 2
infilled, segmentally-arched waggon entrances. Aisles to each side have
square-headed openings with boarded doors and slatted casements in quoined
surrounds with keystones; bay-7 doorway has segmentally-arched soffit.
Shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings. C19 addition set back on left:
boarded double doors to left of 2 pigsties with external walled yards and
round-arched openings to the interiors; henhouse over with small access slit;
a third walled yard on right serves loose box with slatted casement on left
of boarded door; hipped left end to roof with apex stack. Rear of barn: 2
opposed, arched entrances; that on left with stone arch, that on right brick-
arched and taller. Elaborate farm building range facing Wadworth Hall which
presumably it served.
