Quaker meeting house now club. 1706 for Thomas Aldam (Hey, p 130), altered.
Rubble magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roof. 1-storey with loft, 3-bays,
altered 1-bay addition on left (not of special interest). Central 6-panel
door in quoined surround with chamfered, cambered-soffit lintel beneath
inserted casement with glazing bars. Flanking sashes with glazing bars; that
on left shown to be in place of former cross-mullioned window by remnants of
original surround to left. Shaped kneelers and gable copings; weather vane
on left, stone end stack on right. Rear: an original double-chamfered,
single-light window opening on left. Right return: boarded hatch in gable.
interior: possibly original fitments include raised bench with balustrade
across left end and wooden screen with 5 panels sliding in rebated muntins;
2-panel door with iron latch. Warmsworth was an early Quaker centre
developed by the Aldam family, friends of George Fox.
