Two interlocked houses. Late C18 and early C19. Coursed, squared magnesian
limestone/ graduated Welsh slate and C20 tile roofs. Warmsworth House: 2
storeys, 5 bays with lower 2-bay addition on left and 2-bay wing to rear;
No 1, The Annexe occupies 2-storey, 2-bay wing interlocked at rear-left
angle. Warmsworth House: plinth; raised ashlar.quoins and lst-floor band.
Central margin-glazed French window in ashlar surround; sashes with glazing
bars in ashlar surrounds with projecting sills. Shaped kneelers and ashlar
gable copings, rendered end stacks. Addition set back on left has raised
quoins and door on left of sash with glazing bars; 2 similar sashes to 1st
floor; parapet with end stack on left. Right return: 1-storey porch, in
angle with wing, has 6-panelled dour in stone architrave with swept-
shouldered surround,and consoled pediment flanked by margin-glazed casements;
shaped gable over. To each floor on right of porch is an old 36-pane
casement with horizontally-sliding light; over porch a sash with glazing
bars. Projecting end stack to rear gable has rebuilt brick shaft. Left
return (No 1, The Annexe): plain sash and old casement with glazing bars to
ground floor; 6-pane and 16-pane sashes to 1st floor; gable copings; end
Interior: early C19 details to stair hall of Warmsworth House; staircase with
turned-column newels, slender balusters and ramped handrail.
