The following building was de-listed on 2nd June 2003


(West side)

Communal building now health centre. c1910, altered. Probably by Percy
Houfton for the Brodsworth Colliery company. Red and blue brick laid in
contrasting bands, tile roof. Single storey, butterfly plan. Entrance in
north end via an ashlar portico with double doors in splayed recess beneath a
round arch; projecting keystone links to band beneath coped parapet. Splayed
side wings incorporate named foundation stones; end of wing to right with two
3-light casements beneath dentilled cornices, slit to gable and shaped ashlar
kneelers to swept-eaves overhang; end of wing to left has later bay
projection. Central part has taller hipped roof crowned by a louvred,
octagonal ventilator with cornice, leaded ogee cap and weathervane. Right
return: four 3-light casements divided by offset buttresses; blocked doorway
in wing on left has round tile arch; central roof dormer with two 3-light
casements in a tile-hung gable. Part of the Woodlands Colliery village
designed and laid out by Percy Houfton; Houfton's plan published in 1910
shows the building on present site but orientated east-west.
