Pair of semi-detached houses. 1908. By Percy Houfton for the Brodsworth
Colliery Company. Roughcast brick, later cement-tile roof. Asymetrical
selected pair; 2 storeys, 1 : 2 : 1 windows to 1st floor. Wooden casements
with glazing bars throughout. No 75 (on left) has boarded door with windows
of 3 lights to left and of 1 light and 3 lights to right; tile dripmoulds.
No. 73: the same but handed; its ground-floor windows set higher.
lst floor: 3-light windows, those to centre paired and with tiie dripcourse
beneath gable decorated by motif of squares. Swept eaves. Corniced end
stack on right corbelled from gable; matching central ridge stack, altered
end stack on left. Rear: round-headed doorways and flanking 4-pane casements
braced by tile hoodmoulds; circular casements to 1st floor. Part of
Woodlands colliery village (see under Church of All Saints, Central Avenue).
