ST 57 SE LONG ASHTON CHURCH ROAD (north-west side)

Cottage. C16, possibly a remodelling of an earlier house; altered and restored
mid C19. Coursed, squared rubble with freestone, dressings and large quoins;
pantile roof with coped raised verges. 2 storeys. 3 bays: 2-light windows
with hollow chamfered ashlar surrounds and trefoil heads, under square dripmoulds.
Central, partly blocked, doorway in chamfered surround with 4-centred head. C20
wing to rear. Interior. Ashlar fire surround with ogee and hollow moulding and
4-centred head; a similar fireplace is said to be behind bookshelves.
