Lamp standard to front of Hall Gate United Reformed Church

(Formerly listed as Lamp standard to front of Hallgate Methodist Church)

Lamp standard. Mid to late C19, made by Thorncliffe Iron Works. Cast iron. Tall
base supporting plinth with chamfered top corners, decorated to each side with a
castle and a rampant lion, and inscribed to 2 sides 'Thorncliffe'. Bulb base with
foliage decoration to tapering stem. Later octagonal lamp to top. Included for
group value.
