Terrace of five houses, now offices. Early C19 with later alterations. Stucco
with painted stone dressings and slate and concrete tile roofs. Three storeys.
Approximately symmetrical elevation. Five bays with narrow recessed bay
to far left, central bay taller and pedimented. Outer bays, No 9 and 12a,
have matching elevations; the ground floor of each with 6 raised and fielded
panelled door below overlight with radial glazing, set in doorcase with panelled
pilasters, plain frieze and moulded cornice to left and a 16 pane sash with
projecting sill to right. Above each has a full height tripartite bow window
with unequal 15 and 5 pane sashes, simple bowed ironwork balcony and moulded
cornice. Unequal 9 pane sash to second floor of 12a and C20 9 pane window
to No 9, both with projecting sills. Narrow bay to left of No 9 has plank
door below segmental arch to ground floor and two blind openings with projecting
sills above. Nos 10 and 12 also have matching elevations, except to ground
floor. No 10 has 16 pane sash to left with projecting sill, and doorcase
with 6 raised and fielded panelled door below traceried fanlight in moulded
archivolt on moulded imposts set in Doric doorcase with attached columns,
trigylphed frieze and moulded cornice, to right. No 12 has similar C20 door
below overlight with radial glazing in C20 doorcase with fluted pilasters
and cornice to left and a tripartite C20 window with 12 and 8 pane sashes
over panelled aprons and with moulded cornice to right. Above both houses
have a 12 pane sash over the door and a central 16 pane sash to first floor;
plus a central 9 pane window to second floor, that to No 10 an unequal sash
and that to No 12 a C20 window. All windows with projecting sills. Central
bay, No 11, has doorcase to left which adjoins that to No 10 and forms a pair
with it, within a 6 raised and fielded panelled door and plain fanlight.
To centre a two storey bow with tripartite sash window with glazing bars and
projecting sill, and to right a full height blind recess. Above similar window
to central bow flanked by blind recesses, all on continuous sill band. Second
floor has central tripartite window with unequal 9 and 6 pane sashes and
projecting sill. Overhanging eaves with paired gutter brackets to all houses
except No 11 which has simple pediment with paired brackets to eaves band
and plain copings to gable.
