Cowhouse with hayloft. C16 or C17. Cruck framed, nibble sandstone,
stone slate roof. 3 bays, single storey and loft. Board doors to
left and right, stone lintels. Central board door with concrete lintel,
cruck blade exposed to right. Rear : remains of C17 mullion window
built into wall. Interior : 2 well finished cruck pairs. Lower tie
beams removed, other ties above single purlin with notched halving, one
tie with soffit mortices for infill. Large - scantling windbraces.
Saddle apex with square-set ridge. May represent a cruck-framed house
replaced in C17 by adjacent farmhouse. Adjoining C19 cowhouse to right
not of special interest.
