GV II

Railings, retaining wall and garden steps, Early C19. Gritstone wall
and steps, wrought-and cast- iron railings. Sweeping flight of 14 steps
ascending from lower to upper garden, iron railing balustrade to stair
and retaining wall, matching gate, Nosed steps and landing, chamfered
coping to retaining wall. Railings: rectangular standards linked at
midpoint by quatrefoil and by trefoil beneath top rail, wave-form spikes.
Decorative cast principal standards, Top rail swept down with scrolled
support at east end. Included mainly for group considerations.
