School. Dated 1853. Rock-faced gritstone, Welsh slate roof. Single
storey and basement. 2 x 5 bays entered from left, small gabled
extension to rear. Tall round-headed windows throughout main range all
sashes with glazing bar. Main gable has chamfered plinth, 2 ashlar-
dressed windows with cill blocks, continuous impost band and tripartite
keyblocks. Central plaque above states DAY AND SUNDAY/SCHOOL/ERECTED
A.D. 1853. Shaped kneelers, square-cut copings with shouldered and
corniced ashlar stack to apex. A similar stack to rear. Right return :
windows have rock-faced reveals and voussoirs, continuous impost band.
Small stack at eaves between bays 3 and 4. Left return : central, low,
hipped-roof vestibule with six-panel door to each return, flanked each
side by two windows. Included partly for group considerations.
