Barn. Probably C17. Cruck framed, coursed rubble sandstone, mostly
dry-walled. Stone slate roof. 3-bays with partial aisle. Harr-hung
boarded doors to central cart entrance, quoined reveal to right. Left
bay has aisled outshut with small boarded door. Rear : slit vents,
central cart entrance with boarded doors, stone and brick buttress to left
end. Right return : cruck blade and tie beam exposed in wall. Interior :
stone-paved threshing floor. 4 cruck pairs, outer pairs embedded in end
walls, raised on stylobates. Wallposts set on the back oil cruck blades
adjacent to aisle, soffit-morticed wall-plate exposed. Wall ties, single
purlins with most wind braces surviving. Varied apex treatment, diagonal-
set ridge.
