Barn and cowhouse. Probably C17. Partly cruck-framed, coursed rubble
gritstone, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan. Single storey and hayloft.
3-bay cruck barn with 2½ bay cowhouse projecting from front right. Quoins.
2 board doors to barn. To right, end gable of cowhouse wing has door to
right in bonded gritstone surround, inserted casement to left and to gable.
Left return of wing has part-blocked doorway in heavy gritstone surround.
Rear: cart entrance to central bay of barn has quoined surround and remains
of harr-hung door. Interior: barn has 3 cruck pairs with bases raised in
walling, central truss has one blade supported on high brick cclumn. Tie
beams mostly altered or removed, single purlins, square-set ridge on saddle
apex. Cowhouse wing has peg-jointed principal rafter trusses.
