Lodge, wall and gateway. c1793 by John Carr of York for the fourth Earl Fitzwilliam (Allan). Coursed, squared sandstone and rusticated ashlar, graduated Welsh slate roof.

Lodge: two storey centre, single storey wings, three bays, entered from right return. Gateway: set at right angles to front right of lodge with linking wall. Lodge: plinth. Recessed, central, round-arched panel flanked by rusticated pilasters contains sixteen-pane sash with projecting sill and flat arch and casement beneath archivolt. Continuous impost band. Dentil cornice and hipped roof. Wings have sixteen-pane sash flanked by projecting end piers, ashlar parapet coping continuous with impost band, four ball finials (stonework to left much renewed). Stack to rear of two storey part. Gateway: plinth, rusticated square gate piers each with band beneath frieze with paterae, cornice,
ball finial. Wall with ashlar coping to left links with lodge; to right, terminates at ashlar pier with ball finial.
