Farmhouse. Mid C17, possibly incorporating a late mediaeval building; altered
C19. Random rubble; double Roman tiled and pantiled roofs; diagonal and square
rubble stacks. East elevation. 2 storeys. 5 bays: the outer 4 bays are in
2 projecting wings with pitched roofs; 2- and 3-light casement windows with
moulded and chamfered mullions (some C19), under hood moulds and relieving arches
to the left wing. Set back behind the wings is the main body of the house;
three steep gables rise from the eaves. The central bay is part of the main
house: 3-light casement window on the first floor; C20 door in chamfered
surround with depressed arch head. The rear (west) elevation has 2 storey and
attics in 3 steep gables. 3 bays: 2- and 3-light casement windows with moulded
and chamfered mullions and surrounds; the central ones are 3-light cross windows
under relieving arches; all under drip moulds. C19 door off-centre to left.
Single storey bakehouse projects at right. South elevation: 3 gables to south
elevation with off-centre chamfered door surround under a segmental head; plank
door with strap hinges which have open scroll ends. Interior. Hall: wide
chamfered beam, now plastered; fireplace with arched lintel; moulded door frame
to stairway with elaborate but coarsely cut stops. Old kitchen: ovolo moulded
lintel to fireplace with segmental head and iron chimney crane. Sitting room
(north east): ogee and hollow moulded ashlar fireplace with depressed 4-centred
head. Centre first floor room on west side has arch-braced collar beam roof.
