ST 47 SE PORTBURY

1/177 Lower Caswell House

Farmhouse. Mid - late C17; altered C20. Rubble; pantile roof; rubble
stacks. 2 storeys and attics. 3 bays: 2- and 3-light C20 casement windows,
under exposed lintels on ground floor and thin dripmoulds. Central C20 door and
projecting gabled porch. Projecting square stairtower to rear; continuous
stringcourse over part of rear elevation. Interior. Ground floor right room
has ovolo and hollow moulded beams with converging stops; chamber above has an
arched fireplace with an ovolo moulded lintel and converging stops.
