GV II

Combination farmbuilding including barn with dovecote and stable range. Late
C18 and early C19. Coursed, squared limestone, pantile roof. L-shaped: 2-
storey, 5-bay barn incorporating 3-storey dovecote has elongated 1-storey
wing to front right thus forming east side of farmyard. Large quoins. Barn
has infilled, basket-arched waggon entrance to centre now with door inserted
on left, taller door to its left has overlight, slit vents above. 3-storey
central part has ledge to boarded opening and hipped roof. Wing to front
right: brick piers to 3-bay open-fronted shed adjoining barn; on right are
2 stable doors with overlights and 2 part-slatted casements; garage doors
near right end. Rear: opposed waggon entrance to barn, some stone slates
to dovecote. Interior: suspended timber floor to dovecote, brick and wooden
nesting holes. Attached range of open-fronted sheds to rear of barn not of
special interest.
