6/7 The Old Coach House

Coach-house and stable now a dwelling. Probably early C19. Coursed,
squared, dressed red sandstone, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan. 2 storeys,
1:3 bays. Wing projection on left has a C20 casement with glazing bars,
projecting sills and deep lintels to each floor. Set back on right a large
round-headed carriage entrance with rebated quoined surround now fully
glazed; slit vents to each side. Door with oculus over in left return of
wing. End stack to front gable of wing; eaves band and hipped roof to main
range with C20 stack set back an right. Rear: rebated, quoined basket arch
on left now with French window, oculus over. Inserted door on right with
oculus over and 2 casements on right; slit vents. Formerly coach house to
the rectory known as High Trees (q.v.). Included for group value.
