south-east of
Sandbeck Lodge
Barn. Late C18. For the Sandbeck estate. Coursed rubble limestone, pantile
roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Large quoins. Quoined central waggon entrance
with wooden doors and segmental arch; slit vents to left, inserted window to
right. 1st floor: boarded door and flat arch to square hatch on left,
similar blocked opening on right flanked by later openings. Shaped kneelers,
concrete gable copings. Rear: opposed matching waggon entrance.
Interior: queen-strut, principal-rafter trusses; wooden crane fixed between
central trusses.
Attached farmbuildings not of special interest.
