Large house now 3 cottages. Probably late C16, altered. Deeply-coursed,
dressed sandstone, Welsh slate roof. U-shaped plan with 2-storey porch to
left return. 2 storeys and attic, 1:2:1 windows to 1st floor. Chamfered
plinth, large quoins. Central recess has door in ashlar surround flanked on
each floor by C19 four-pane sashes; walled-up earlier doorway on right has
bonded surround with deep lintel. Wing projecting on left has 3-light
casement in square-faced surround to each floor, crow-stepped gable. Wing on
right has a casement with glazing bars in double-chamfered surround with
dripstone on each floor, gable has remains of crow-steps on right otherwise
with gable copings set on shaped kneeler to left. Central ridge has C19
brick stacks at each end, another brick stack to left return of wing on
right. Rear: central part has a transomed, 4-light, ovolo-moulded mullion
window with dripstone beneath a transomed, 3-light chamfered mullion window;
blocked original openings to 3 floors on right; bricked-up 3-light mullioned
windows with dripstone to attic of left gable; both wings have crow-stepped
gables. Left return: porch projection on left has bricked-up, round-arched
doorway beneath transomed, 3-light, ovolo-moulded mullion window with
dripstone; bricked-up 2-light, double-chamfered, mullion window to crow-
stepped gable.
