Adjacent to Park gates at intersection with Allerton Road. Unusually good bronze
figure group. Harold Brownsword sculptor, 1922. Madonna like figure supporting
half naked body of dead soldier, Pieta deviation; naked youth balancing group to
left. The figures rise from a rock with the soldier's arms at foot. The whole is
set on an ashlar corniced pedestal.
